The webinar, “Bridging Barriers to Climate Finance for Green Female Entrepreneurs,” will explore the key structural, financial, and policy challenges that grassroots women entrepreneurs face in accessing climate finance. It will bring together perspectives from funders, policy experts, development practitioners, and a grassroots entrepreneur to highlight practical solutions, best practices, and gaps that still need to be addressed.
This session brings together diverse expert perspectives to explore the key barriers and opportunities in accessing climate finance for green female entrepreneurs, promising an engaging and insightful discussion.

Policy frameworks, partnerships and systemic gaps affecting climate finance in Africa and Latin America
Inclusive strategies from funders and intermediaries to better reach underserved communities

Investment practices and considerations beyond financial returns when supporting women-led green businesses
The Greenovations 2 Webinar Series
This webinar series is presented by the Greenovations project, implemented by the United Nations University and consortium of partners, to share key findings and insights with key actors to foster cross-regional dialogue and collaboration.
Mirana Andriarisoa is a Programmatic Coordinator at Fundación Avina, where she coordinates African grantees within the Climate and Care Initiative, contributing to the integration of care perspectives into climate action. She is from Madagascar and has a background in economics and energy policy, with experience in climate transparency at the UNFCCC and across various sustainable development areas.
Belinda Putterill Managing Director USE-IT Ethekwini Waste Materials Recovery Industry Development
Belinda Putterill is the Managing Director of USE-IT Waste Beneficiation (RF) NPC in South Africa. She leads practical circular economy and waste beneficiation initiatives that support job creation, township enterprise development, and landfill diversion. Belinda works closely with grassroots and women entrepreneurs in the waste sector, helping to strengthen inclusive green value chains and improve access to skills, markets, and funding. She is a strong advocate for recognising women as climate solution leaders and for making climate finance more accessible to women-led green enterprises.
Martha Kangwa Co-Founder and Director Nsansala Conservancy LTD
Martha Mutizhe Kangwa is Co-Founder and Director at Nsansala Conservancy Limited, where she leads work on projects, compliance, and business development focused on climate-resilient and sustainable livelihoods. She brings over 25 years of experience across housing finance, real estate, and agribusiness, including senior leadership roles at the Zambia National Building Society, and has contributed to innovative financing models, community-based climate solutions, and strategic development initiatives.
Bankole Oloruntoba CEO Nigeria Climate Innovation Center
Bankole Oloruntoba is the CEO of the Nigeria Climate Innovation Center, a World Bank-backed initiative supporting Nigeria’s green economy. Since its inception, the NCIC has incubated over 60 green ventures and seed-funded 24 with a total of $240,000 USD, partnering with organizations like Coca-Cola Foundation and GIZ. Bankole is also the Honorary Consul to Finland in Lagos and holds degrees from ABU Zaria, Lagos Business School, and Business School Netherlands. He is a social and business tactics engagement specialist with a deep background in entrepreneurship development, business development and innovation management. Bankole started the Abuja startup Ecosystem and has supported the setup of over 15 innovation hubs in Nigeria. As a thought leader in climate-focused startups and entrepreneurship in West Africa, he advises numerous organizations and has been instrumental in developing Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
